We have just begun an exciting new garden in Newton Mearns building the first of two phases.
After a slow start due to the rain, Cobus put in the foundations for the walls and sandstone edging. 7 tonnes of sandstone was delivered and we now have to sort
it for building.
By day 6 Tony and Zack have finished the decking and on day 7 the deck lights are fitted. Also on day 7 we make a good start with the sandstone wall and he circular deck gets two coats of preservative stain.
By day nine the deck has had a second coat of paint and the sandstone edging is all laid out waiting for a break in the rain to be laid! We have been slowed down considerably this and last week by the weather. We are considering buying a canopy! No rain at all on day 10 and so we could get more done - all the edging was laid around the deck and the wall is making good progress.
The sandstone walls are being built by Robert, a qualified dry stone dyker - so he takes the business of constructing walls very seriously indeed. The new canopy is up so that we can work on in the rain. By day 14 the patio is almost finished.
So this is the 1st of two phases completed.
