Susan gained an Honours Degree in Landscape Architecture from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1991. She set up Terra Firma in 1993 and for many years ran the company as a design only consultancy with sub-contractors carrying out the work.
In 2003 Terra Firma became a 'design and build' company in order to provide clients with a more simplified and seamless service.

Terra Firma now occupy a unique

Susan Gallagher - Landscape Architect

Qualified with an Honours degree in Landscape Architecture and over 20 years of experience designing and building gardens. Previously she worked for North Lanarkshite's Landscaoe Department. Other interests include wildlife, photography and architecture.

Terry Taylor - Landscape Architect

Terry is a qualified Landscape Architect with over 40 years experience in both the private and public sectors. He brings to the team his excellent design skills and extensive plant knowledge which he acquired at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. He loves travelling and, surprise surprise, gardening!
(He also used to be Susan's boss 20 years ago!)

John Morrison - Senior Landscaper

John has over 25 years experience of all aspects of hard and soft andscaping and has been building gardens with Terra Firma for 15 years. He has particular skills in machine operation, patio and driveway construction and turfing. In his spare time John sings and plays guitar in a band and coaches at the local youth club.

Marcus Hunter - Senior Landscaper

Marcus has been with Terra Firma for 6 years and he is highly skilled in all aspects of hard landscaping including patios, steps, natural stone walls, fencing and decking. He is qualified to SVQ Level 2 in General Construction. He enjoys live music, reading and good films.

Michael Fleming - Landscaper/Labourer

Michael has been with Terra Firma for 5 years and plays an important and enthusiastically supportive role in the team. He has over 5 years experience and is qualified to SVQ Level 2 in General Construction. Outside of work he enjoys football and spending time with his young family.

David Henderson - Landscaper/Finisher

David's eye for fine detail and thoroughness ensures that each job is kept tidy and clean as work progresses and fine finishes are produced as well as each garden left immaculately clean. He has been with us for 2 years and he is a keen cyclist, wildlife enthusiast and loves history.

Rob Branter - Estimator/Landscaper

Rob previously ran his own landscape and design company for over 12 years before joining Terra Firma. He carries out the joint roles of estimating and working on site. He is an active climber and writes music and plays guitar.

Mike Calder - Landscaper
Mike also had his own landscape company in Ayrshire before moving to Glasgow and joining Terra Firma. He has over 15 years experience of both hard and soft landscaping.

Craig Clements - Landscaper
Craig has been landscaping for over 15 years and is experienced in all aspects of both hard and soft landscaping. He plays bass in a band, enjoys the coutryside and travelling.
