terra firma gardens

susan gallagher ba (hons) landscape architecture

Its the beginning of December and our last project of this year is a complete facelift of the garden of a beautiful Edwardian house in Giffnock. It is a small space with a level change that we will make full use of to create an interesting and colourful space. The old walls will get a fresh lease of life with some vibrant colour which will give a contemporay feel alongside the blue fencing which will replace the crumbling side walls.

After two days of demolishing much of what you see above we are preparing the ground for drainage and grading the site to our new levels. Weather permitting, we hope to have the back completed in about three weeks with the front taking a further 7 days or so.

After week 2 the gardens is taking shape with both upper patio areas laid, the wall near completion and the fence panels painted deep blue. In the photo above the shape is in the process of being cut for the inlaid granite cubes.
