Anniesland, Glasgow March-May2006

We are taking the height of this garden down by 0.5 metres and contructing a lower lawn, a terrace with a raised circular pond, a long curving ramp, reclaimed sandstone retaining walls and steps.

Within 2 days the entire garden is a rainy mud bath and 60 tonnes of soil and rubble have been removed (for recycling). In a few days the foundations should be ready to go in and the sandstone retaining walls will start to define the spaces.

By day 6 the foundations are well underway and some semblance of shape is starting to emerge. You can just see the ramp below. On day 7 construction of the retaining walls begins using reclaimed sandstone

Here's the view looking down from the top level. Its amazing to think that we removed 100 tonnes of soil and clay from this garden. We have kept the best of the topsoil to make the planting areas but the subsoil was removed for recycling.

Some weeks later the finer details are being put together such as the centre of the stone circles which we have had words (chosen by the client) carved into.
