Its February 6th and we are travelling a little further afield than normal to Alexandria to terrace a sloping garden. The garden has a fantastic wild space behind it populated by an abundance of wildlife including a family of hedgehogs.
This is the same view taken 12 days later. With the help of a digger and a dump truck to form the terraces and get the mud and clay under control, the garden is more manageable with the drainage in as well as the sandstone retaining walls and much of the sandstone paving.
The customer wants to keep the red fence to the rear but we are replacing the side fence with trellis which when covered in Clematis and Hineysuckle will offer more privacy. Access to the upper lawn area is provided by two sets of steps and a ramp (see below) for young Reese to have fun with.
